Question about rear doors

I'm still on the fence about the CX9's huge rear doors. Seems like it would be impossible to open in some parking lots where the spaces are so tight. Anyone care to share their opinions/experiences so far?

It all depends on how much space you have. In my garage, it's VERY tight since I really don't too much room. In parking lots, I haven't had too much trouble. If you have enough room to open the doors fully it's a pluse since teh doors open wider then any other door around I think 70' .

the doors are big. It isn't too much of a problem if you just need the regular back seat, but if you need to get into the 3rd row you have to really open the door, which can make it a tight squeeze. But I don't need the 3rd row on a regular basis so you don't need to open them that much to slide in.

Yes, the doors on the CX-9 swing quite a ways out. But the front doors actually extend a little farther out than the rears, if you open both all the way. I think the issue is that you can still get in and out of the front seats without opening the front doors all the way. However, it is much easier to get out of the 3rd row with the rear doors completely open.

Therefore, I'm looking into trim/moulding/etc. for the doors to prevent the inevitable dings/dents/scratches.

Anyone here with infants have issues getting baby in the car in tight spaces? I don't have a garage so I wouldn't have issues getting baby carrier into the car. More concerned when at the mall, etc.

Technically it should be easier since the read doors open wider then any other door on the market. The only problem is if you are in a tight spot, you won't be able to open the doors all the way to utilize that feature.
