Question about performance

I'm not a msp owner, but I plan to be shortly. I read the threads all the time. Does anyone in the forums own a msp with a built engine, different turbocharger and all the other goodies to compensate for that amount of power? If so, how much did you spend and what type of performance are you getting out of it?

your better off in the other forced induction section there are some p5's with different turbo kits and alot more indepth tuning than youll find here

someone will soon. i helped him get all the parts he needed. i dont know off the top of my head anyone else with a different turbocharger. there really arent too many needs to change turbos, unless you go dual ball bearing or something like he did. unless youre looking for some ungodly amount of power, you can build the motor and crank up the boost.

I just purchased everything I need to do a complete upgrade for my speed. I have spent over $4000.00 so far. New block, crank, oil pump, turbo, downpipe, pistons, rods, water pump, All belts, gaskets, ported ands polished lower and upper end. That is excluding labor, I am doing that at my shop.

You might want to PM MPNick or Dinospeed. I believe they have one of the fastest MSP's running at the moment.

you can get alot of performance from a mazdaspeed, if you take a msp and get a bigger turbo, cai, fmic, hardpipes, downpipe, forged internals, colder plugs, exhaust system, header, engine management system, throttlebodies, and clutch, i'd estimate about $4.000 - $5.000...it helps if you know people so cost and labor won't be to much.. wouldn't it be nice if you could say "yeah its got a hemi"..but on a serious note, if you invest, lets say $6.000, you would have one fast ride. so yes the performance is there if your willing to pay the price.
