I know i'm not putting much into the content of this thread, but for some reason i'm compelled to comment. I've had my N/A FS-DE in my 03 LX, and traded it in for a K20a3 powered Si. there is SO much difference in the two with throttle responce, how it handles basic bolt-ons, the sound it makes, etc... The differences are huge, and the K-series just seems so much cleaner and more refined than the FS.
those who don't know, the K20a3 is the 160hp/130 version of the K-series with a 9.8:1 compression. I'm actually planning to get a K20a swap w/ a six speed down the road soon. It's the 220 crank HP version with close to a 9k redline and an 11.5:1 compression ratio.
The RSX-S K20a2 and the K20z3 in the new 06 Si (which are the same minus the intake mani and crankshaft) have an 11.0:1 ratio pumping 200hp.
The bore and stroke on all K-series are the same, but the differences are in i-VTEC programming/camshafts, compression, and the flow of the head.
I only wish my FS could do what the K-series does stock. Not trying to start something, but it seems to take a turbo FS to keep up with a stock K20.
And there are K24 variants that produce the same horsepower, but because of the displacement, create more torque than the K20's. A boosted K24 is a torque monster...
Anyway.. yeah... Maybe I did contribute more than I thought I would.
