i didnt get any instructions on how to install protegegarage didn't give me any =( i was just wondering if i use the stock bolts or not cuz its a b**** getting the other end of the midpipe connected to the stock cat back

corksport didn't send us any directions with the shipment to send to anyone :(. if you email ambrose@corksport.com they should be able to email you the directions. i would but i do not have them on file here.

Is it those exhaust manifold spring bolts you are having problems with?

yup they the ones that bolt to the downpipe go in perfectly but it seems like the ones that connect to the catback are too short so i jus went to autozone and bought 2 bolts washers and nuts hope its good enuff till i figure out a way to put on the spring bolts

thanks much. have you driven the car with it on there? how is it?

loud especially since i removed the resonators off the car and gas pedal responds alot better i love it! car feels faster tho there was alot of smoke maybe cuz i gunned it a little too much right after i put it one ill post a vid 2morrow or today lol

downpipe i think you mean :)

At autozone, on the box they are called "Exhaust Manifold Bolts". My buddy and I just called them the Bolt/Washer/Springy combo things.

Its good you got it figured out, and you had to do what I had to do with my catback. The stock flanges on the exhaust are all wimpy and thin, and the big ass thick flanges on the Corksport kit are too thick. The springs don't compress anywhere at all, and so I ended up just taking a rotozip and cutting a coil off each spring to make it fit. It looks (or at least on ours it looked like) the bolts that attach the exhaust pieces together are cut at the factory or such, and the lack of length means they wont thread. It doesn't help that the stock flanges are threaded some ass odd size.

It would be awesome if Corksport shipped out some bolts/washers/springs (if springs are needed?) with their catback and midpipe kits just in case. Otherwise, it is good.

so whats the deal ... some report no probs using the stock bolts, etc and others say they have to cut the springs, buy new bolts, etc?? Is it the way its being installed the problem, as in, whether you bolt it up to the catback first or bolt it up to the downpipe first?

Looking at the flanges on the midpipe (which I don't have) and the catback (which I do), I think its a case by case basis. All I know is that on mine, the bolt was not long enough to connect the CS catback to the stock midpipe without snipping one coil off each spring.

I got mine and it fit just fine...I also got 2 sets of instructions in my box...lol. I have some speedo videos that I would show but was told that I can't post them by the jbird mod guy. But the speedo videos were a before and after. I like it though. Sounds good on a stock exhaust, it didn't get much louder at all.

Thanks Ken!

hmmm. well maybe you have my instructions since I also dont have any ... j/k

Anyways, was it supposed to come with anything else or just the pipe in the box? You can host the vids on youtube if you want so folks could go there to see 'em. Tks!

Sorry to bring up an old post but I just got my CS mid pipe and the supplied bolts that connect the CBE to Mid-pipe will not thread into the CS flange. I forced it as much as I was willing to but didn't want to mess up the threads. I even used a torch to heat up the flange thinking that would be enough to get the bolts in but that was a no go. Guess I can run a tape through to make sure the threads are clean. Then pick up some different size bolts tomorrow and see if I can get one to work. Did anyone else have this issue?

I purchased longer hardware, but that was a while ago Call Derrick he will fix it. you are correct they do not reach. I thought this had been remedied, my supplied bolts are stiil on my bench.
