I'm about to change my plugs (IK22s), when I get my car back from shop. I expect to see lots-'o-carbon on the stock plugs
Still, I drove like a granny (RPMs never over 2500-3000 and such) for the first 750 miles to break in, so maby I fouled em up good right off the bat, I dunno? I knew i wouldn't get the EPA rating, of course, but 18 was SOO far from 24-30(31?) I was pissed, carbon all over the back of the exhaust and to say hessitation is an understatement for me, after the first acceleration or 2 (not past 60 or so) I have nothing until the last 500 RPMs before redline (and I take it about 500-750 RPMs into redline) where the car goes from "NOTHING!!" (or so it feels) to CRAPLOADS of torque, being in a low gear with that torque (ie the HP) is felt like a hammer, but then I have to shift almost immediatetly to be safe (<I hope:> KnN oil filter (20 bucks) and mobil one pure synthitic) and the shift puts me below my only point of torque (well, I have some decent torque at about 2750, but it drops off quick right after 2750). Maby my "running rich" problem is really really bad compared to everyone else, I certianly take really good care of it as far as the drive train (except the tranny fluid, GM synchromech coming in soon) is concerned (though I do drive the crap outta it, it's mostly just really hard on the suspension). The dealership tried to convince me that THAT much black arond the tail is normal, and an occational plume of black smoke out the ass from a down shift is normal on all mazdas (GGGrrrrr, evil dealership (pissed) ). I have 20,000 miles on it and changed to the mobil one (and $10.00 fram oil filter) at 750 miles (damn the factory gorilla (monkey) ). I think I'm just pumping WAY to much fule into the cylinders, but I don't have any sort of practical experience with this sort of stuf I just understand the "principle" of the the thing. Please give opinions and ideas and input of the knowladgeable
