I was on the fairfax county parkway on my way back from work. This Black Lude with an aem intake (could hear his intake as well as got the sticker)and some dragon exhaust was infront of me about a car or two. Dude was just roaring everytime he left the light. I was at the last light before my exit....so I waited for the traffic to open, then weaved and got next to him.....I know he saw me comin, cuz his car shook a little like he downshifted. As soon I lined up with him going 40 mph, we both took off. I just kept on pulling on him and pulling, I could hear his engine revving hard as well as his really loud exhaust. Beat him by a good 7 feet till the next light....I slowed down before the light to say whaz up....he just looked straight and just drove off:mad:.....I was like man....It must hurt to have a fast car and then loose to a lesser one.

fairfax county parkway??? 9100??? nice choice of road btw, has some nice open sections with some nice up-n-down hills

do you hang around leesburg pike often? I've been seeing this blue MP3 driving on route 7 lately, is that you?

Hey isn't it 7100 ??Yeh it sure is a cool road, nice twists and turns....probably why a lot of guys quit....early when making a run. Curves make you think that your gonna come flying of the road. Yeh you probably seen me on Rt 7 on my way back from work coming of the parkway. Haven't seen another one in the area yet. Saw one once at the Dulles Towncenter. Oh yeh, be warned.......there are tons of cops just chillen with their gun on the parkway ready to reel you in. So everytime I do take a trip to the 6-n-half Grand I am extremely cautious not to do it for long, or above 80mph, or I can see all the way to the next light. I know some of you are like"tsk...tsk, keep it on the track!"...and I agree...but sometimes u just got to represent when there is someone throwing their weight around. Anyhow take care and be well.

thanks for the headsup on cops, I really like the rolling hills with the twists and turns the parkway has, a lot of fun just going at 65-70 (when there's no traffic of course)

Hey there, finally able to post!! Just thought I'd say Fairfax County Parkway is a great road, but definitely watch out for those cops. I'd have to say there has only been a couple times that I haven't seen a cop. They really like to hide! So, be carefull! I've almost got nailed a couple times.

this is off subject but...

since both of you guys are in N. Va area, why don't you guys come join us 14 other Protege owners (all gens, all trim levels) for the Mid Atlantic Protege Picnic (MAPP)?

we've done this twice already, it is a lot of fun. It would be great if a couple MP3s can join us for the BBQ (what I prefer to call it) and have the full line-up of ALL Proteges from the last 10+ years.

I beat a previous model prelude on North Central Expressway (Hyw75) on the way to work one night. It was on the strech just as you pass Nortel in Richardson (No cops out that night!). I was surprised.

I was thinking of going to the MAPP. I would actually love to, only one thing though... it's the day before my one year anniversary so I should probably pass it by the wife first. I mentioned it to her earlier in the week because I saw Gro Harlems post about it, and she seemed like she wouldn't mind. So, I'll probably pass it by her tonight and we'll just have to see. Would definitely love to go though, especially to see/meet other protege fanatics. Since it's at Skyline, you just can't go wrong... I love it up there and it's not too far away.

Get you a Passport 8500 or somthing for detecting speed traps! It will save you a ton in the long run. One day you may not see the bacon, and then, aw sheit! Just get some protection from the Russian Roulette game!

Can the Passport8500 avoid being detected by cops...? As you may know the radar detectors are illegal in VA. How about laser gun, does it give you an early warning, cuz the laser I have heard is impossible to avoid. Oh yeh, finally how much does this radar retail? Thanks

ZoomZoomH... Not a bad idea!! I didn't get to talk to her last night because I had class at Strayer until 10. By the time I got home she was fast asleep!! I'm going to talk to her today so hopefully I'll catch her on a good hour of the day!

I did not know that detectors were illeagal in VA. Supposedly they can avoid the detector detectors! About laser, you will not be immune, but it will give you a warning. I got mine for right at $300. It has more than payed for itself over, and over again.
