Purchasing spoiler: dealer or aftermarket?

Hello All,

I have recently purchased a 2005 Mazda 6i, and I want to get the wing spoiler that is available. I'm wondering if I should get it directly from Mazda's website, or if the aftermarket ones that are available are of similar quality to the dealers version. I would also prefer to get one that is already painted, so does anybody have any experience with a particular vendor and how well the paint matched?

Thanks

your best bet is to get a spoiler from mazda.. in my opinion they look the best. I haven't found a really nice aftermarket yet. the cheapest price you can find is most likely www.mazdastuff.com. They are pretty cheap and have reasonable shipping rates, plus the paint is the OEM paint!! if you have any more questions, post away.

And oh yes, welcome to the forums!! (yippy)

Thanks for the reply.

So to clarify, would the accessories (the wing spoiler in particular) from mazdastuff.com be of the same quality as if I were to get it directly from the dealer?

Thanks

indeed you are correct.. its the same quality because its the oem part!

Found a lookalike on ebay and the paint is on par with oem. only thing I had an issue with is the wires inside ratle when closing the trunk. Since then the oem ones have gone down in price enought to not even need to look aftermarket anymore unless thats what you wish for. Depending on the dealership they will charge $190 to install it.

Website still up so I take it austin didn't get as bad a storm as other parts.
