Square, Rectangle and 4 Circles
So Sunday night around 12:30am i met up w/ my girl by her house, got out of my car and into her's. As we were sitting in her car i noticed that a police car was circling anround the block. I thought nothing of it and we took off for a few minutes to go to an ATM. Not even 5 minutes pass and her dad is calling my phone telling me that the cops are shining their light into my car and looking into it. So we rush back only to see that I got 3 Tickets. One for my tints ($50), one for missing front plate ($50), and one for expired plates. Ouch! The bastards could've cut me some slack on the expired plates considering that it was Nov. 1 12:30 am (expired in Oct.)!!! I think they were just waitng for me to leave so's they can give me the Royal SHAFT! :'(

it sucks, no doubt, but you admittantly were guilty on all three counts. why complain about cops doing their job?

1) Break the law
2) You get a ticket
3) ?????
4) Profit

Seriously, if you b**** about breaking the law and getting caught, you're not gonna get much sympathy here.

rule # 1 get all that s*** straighten out so when you get caught for speeding or reckles driving you can claim that youre responsible and have them take it a bit lighter

seriously bud pointless tix ... if u're gonna pay at least know that u did something to be penalized for

on the other hand i hate cops just wondering around and sticking their nose in someone elses biz .. if i didnt call them here .. than i dont want to see them

I think the next door neighbor called the cops. He's some sort of narco cop, and had it in for me cuz my alarm kept going off one night i stayed over. He stepped up to me about it, so i apologized but he kept f*ing w/ me about it. DAMN!!! I SAID I WAS SORRY!

I din't say I wasn't wrong, but damn! Out of all the p.o.s. cars w/ no city stickers and tints on that same block, they went for mine.

how can they hit you for tint when no one was in the car? I can see if you were driving around and then got pulled over.

Well they did. I could've used those $125 for some mod, but wudda you gonna do (dunno)

imo, any tickets for tint and missing front plates are ridiculous. those are just bulls*** harrassment tickets. obviously that cop had nothing better to do in chicago than write you tickets for bulls*** reasons.

the expired tags i can see because well, they were expired. yeah, they were only a half an hour past the expiration date, but he could written that ticket the next morning and they still would have been expired.

wow man thats ****** up. musta been a real asshole cop because i usually never have any problems with chicago PD. they are usually cool guys and even if they do pull you over let you go, (or dont show up in court ;) )

Yeah usually Chicago cops are pretty lenient and don't give you crap. As for the suburban cops, they can just go to hell.

Fight the tint ticket, it will get dropped. Just bring in proof that you had the tints removed and it;; be dropped. Same goes for teh front plate. The expired tags might get dropped too, since it was opnly a day before. Just go with proof that you fixed everything. Chances are they will drop em all.

was the car parked in her driveway? if the car is on private property they cant really do anything
It was parked on a dark side street.

I have pics of the car w/o tints and w/ a front plate. Do you guys think that'll fly in court?

As long as you don't have a date imprint on the pictures, it'll probably pass. Also, make sure it's the right season (i.e., no leaves on the trees in the background, but no snow either). That might be tough...

You seem to have no luck - first locking your keys in your car, and now this. However, I do agree with others who said you took a chance. Mattman got tint tickets, too. I remember noticing at the last meet how virtually no one had front plates on. Glad to see I put up w/the bulls*** of having the plates on for a reason! Face it - you took chances and you got caught three times. Oops.

You're gonna lose something out of this no matter what. Either time, money, or both. It's your decision how to pursue this, but if I was in this position, I would definitely try to fight. You never know...

That reminds me - Mattman, have you heard anything else in regards to no more front license plates? Perhaps this is why he got nailed - cops are trying to get all the $$$ they can out of this before the new law takes into effect?

Hope this helps.
