Protege5 Tire Pressure?

Alright, after doing a little searching, I am looking for some help. :)

I noticed at my 7,500 mile tire rotation last weekend, that I am starting to get a little wear on the inside and middle area of my tires... I am wondering what tire pressure you guys/gals are running in your factory dunlops? I am currently at 32 PSI Front / 33 PSI Rear since I have been doing a lot of spirited driving lately. Anyways, I am considering going back up to 35 Front, and 36 Rear. Anybody have any suggestions? I just read a post on this subject about the MP3's, but since our tires are a little different, I figured I would check here with you all. Thanks!

I check mine after reading the manual (it says 35) and they were at ~20psi!!!
I kinda like the harshness that the OEM recommended 35psi gives you...:D

I have been using the recommended pressure on the inside of the driver's Door Jam which said 32 Front, and 32 Rear... it does feel pretty spongey that way. I imagine that you did notice a pretty big difference, going from 20 to 35 PSI. lol. If you tried 20 PSI in your miata, it would probably grip good enough to throw you out of the car!

I'm using 35 psi in each tire. I found that going a little higher than the stock recommended pressure of 32 psi gives me a slightly crisper turn-in without a noticeable ride penalty.

I also notice the same issue with mine, the inside looks wore out as if the time bounce. 32psi is the norm for most tires but if 35 is what the book recommends, then I will check it out. :D

Just wondering why you would run a higher rear pressure in your car? The P5 is still a front engine FWD, right? You should be running a higher front than rear. I run about 36F and 32 rear daily in my MP3. Higher rears will just make it less controllable.
Just my experience, but for better performance, run a bit more in the front. You'll get a lot better handling through corners.
Also, I try to rotate my tires every 3000-3500 miles. 7500 might be a little prolonged, even though that's probably what the manual says to do. If you are a spirited driver, you'll get more life out of them.
Hope that helps.

Mazdaspeedgirl: Do your tires have any sidewall left after running 20 PSI!?!?!?!? Man that had to be a smooth ride! :) Feel sorry for the tires though.

Yeah, this was my second rotation, I did them at 3750 miles previously, like the service manual said too. :) I tried them at 36 F / 35 Rear this morning, and it felt ok... I can't believe that 3 PSI difference will make the car ride that much rougher. I am also anxious to see what kind of improvement in gas mileage this might afford. I think I might try what you have done and lower the rear tires down a few PSI.

Anyways, Thanks for the advice! :)
