Hello,
Judging from the google searches I've made, the last thing you guys need is another protege radio removal thread. Well, please bear with me. I've gone to the far dark corners of the internet and back looking at every walk through, video & step by step depicting in great detail how to remove these suckers and I. Can. Not. Do it.
2002 Protege5. No prior visible damage that I haven't caused myself trying to remove the damn thing.
I've:
But to no avail. I've even tried removing the blank casset cover and pulling from inside there while a friend uses the keys, shouting out it, worshiping the shoddy radio gods, cursing the shoddy radio gods.. Nothing will work. I'm about ready to beat the damn thing in with a hammer.
Does anyone have any other suggestions before I hurl my Mazda off a cliff in a fit of fury?

- Removed the vanity plastic
- inserted the 4 keys every way known to man
- pulled until my hands became raw
