Protege5 questions

75K on a 2002? Wow you really don't drive anywhere. I have 132K on a 2003

Yeah, its easy to keep her clean like that. I've only driven to work 3 months of the year this year, and I will still have 75k miles on my car this comming April when I get home from Colorado. I can't imagine my mileage if I hadn't driven round trip to Amarillo, TX twice, Atlanta, GA 4 times, and Miami about 5-7 times.

I'll be rolling 40k by the end of this week - 2003.5 Protege5 bought new April 2003 :) I'm averaging about 8600 miles per year!

I get about 310 on a tank of gas in mostly city driving and only have to fill up once every two weeks. Haven't been on any trips longer than 250 miles, but I'm certain you can see 425+ highway miles on a tank with no problem.

In all honesty unless the looks of the p5 turn you on that much more than any other 4 banger in its price range i wouldnt go for it. I mean gas mileage is subpar for a 4 banger like this. My friends corolla s makes just as much power and gets at least 5 more miles to the gallon than me.

Boring Corolla that is a grandma's car vs a Protege5 that is sporty. Hmmmm. Protege5 ftw.

Ah no 70-87 Corolla rocked other than that corolla are wack now... They have no style to them. MP5 looks so sweet. Now when they remake the AE86 thats another thing.

The protege5 gives best consumption at exactly 110KM/h ~70mph. I drove 655KM at 110Kph when the light came on.

at 100% city I get max 400KM range.

I've only filled up 2 times since I bought my MP5, but I got 28 and 29 MPG. I check at every fill up. From what I hear and my experience with the car, it isn't that fuel efficient for a 4 cylinder. And I've heard people complain about its low MPG. However...I came from driving an 86 Mustang Gt that got 17 MPG, so at over 10 mpg more I am ecstatic. Coming from your Altima and looking for even better mpg you probably won't be impressed. But if you just want different styling then thats another thing. Before the MP5 I thought 23 mpg was great, haha.
I could see this car hitting 500 miles per tank on a long trip. I got 460 miles on a tank driving to Florida from Illinois in an 02 Impala, I couldn't believe it.

wow I have about the same miles on the car! But i typically get around 100 miles per quarter tank...

I put the CAI and RB catback to moderate use, so I'm probably not driving with 100% economy in mind. That and my driving is about 80% city (6 mile commute = 30-45 minutes) I occasionally stretch her legs out on the weekends and of course I get much better mileage on the hwy.

Sounds good. Header and underdrive pulley must be what's giving me the better mileage then. I'm more like 50% city, though (live in suburbs)

The best ive gotten so far is about 325 on a tank, and thats with the gas light on. I cant seem to squeeze crap out of this car for gas mileage.

btw: 36100 miles on an 02 ftw.
