Protege 5 Intake?

I've got a quick question. I hear that the best MP5 instake is made by Injen - is this true? Further, my father said that he had a K&N Intake that was made for a small car that we could adjust to fit the Prot5 (for free! =). Should I do this or would I get better performance/be safer going with the Injen (or other intake?)?

Blaze...if your dad has one that he could fit to your car and it will still look nice...go for it...after all...its the right price!

as far as the Injen being the BEST? well that is a very subjective thing.....as far as performance....they are all pretty much the same I believe...at least there have been NO real comarison testing with each kind on the same car, with a REAL DYNO to do the comparison....

I believe its really all a matter of personal choice...and cosmetics. SO, its really up to you to decide what you think LOOKS best....and go that route.

PERSONALLY....I am like a packrat....I LOVE shiney things! lol and I really love the way the polished tube of the injen looks under the hood. :{D

Hey nuke...just so you know - I have contacted Rishie about my wheels/tires and I won't be getting any body pieces for my prot 5. I finally saw the autoexe stuff. I like the rear spoiler and the front lip, but it isn't worth all the money for such a minimal change. I was very unimpressed with the grill.

Would the K&N sound the same as all others? Do they all sound the same? I don't want a real loud sound, just a little low frequency maybe at high revs. I don't wanna be the guy with the riced up civic sounding car! hehe...

I don't think you will notice any REAL sound change by just dropping in the K&N....the others? well you know I have the INJEN...and I don't hear it at all....but that is because I have the bosal exhaust too....AND my volume on the stereo usually resides on teh UPPER half of the dial all the time! lol

the only time I really hear my intake is when I turn the car off and you hear that last breath it takes.

You ever goto Barrett on Friday and Sat. nights? I was just wondering. The intake usually should make a cool deep sound not too as u say Riced out or anything but a nice hallow sound to it.

You talking about Barret Parkway in Kennesaw?

I used to go there when I lived in Cartersville, GA.

I actually worked part time at the Circuit City by CarMax just before Hwy 41.

Barret Parkway on a Friday and Saturday night was ridiculous.

Especially byt the mall. Trying to get to I-75 was an ordeal to say the least!

Yeah the Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw. That is a really fun place to go and "cruise". If u wanna find any kinda race it can be found there from every car from high horse Supras and Cameros to the slow ass Lancer's( That even our car can beat, LOL) and other rice,rice. Sorry for changing subjets.
Over all get an intake its worth the money for performance gain and the look as well as the sound is just that much better.
