Wow, did I ever get lucky. I bought the following P5 a week ago:
-Yello, w/ leather interior
-Moonroof / 6disc in dash changer
-fully loaded
-roof rack
ONE PROBLEM, I paid $20,000 out the door. $2000 down payment and $300 for 60 months 0%apr. no payments till june
luckily enough the same day the dealer called me and said they screwed up the contract. they applied for a rebate i was not supposed to get. i re-did the contract the next day for the same payment plan and down payment. so i was still at 20k out the door.
then yesterday i got ANOTHER call. once again the contract was screwed up. apparently i was not allowed to get 0% for 60 months. only 0% for 54 months. they said i still pay the same, but just have to make up the 6 months by adding them to the 54 months. when i showed up to sign my THIRD contract it said my new HIGHER monthly payments to make up for the 6 i couldn't get under 0% would be $340. Here comes some basic math:
$300 * 60 months + $2000 down payment = $20,000 OTD
$340 * 54 months + $2000 down payment = $20,360 OTD
when i asked why i had to pay extra he said its for fees. hmmm, i GAINED fees over the week??? i got pissed and said keep the damn car. i put 400 miles on it and wasted the "complimentary tank of gas". he re-offered me this deal:
$312 * 54 months + $2000 down payment = $18,848 OTD
i will call him today and see if i can get this deal:
$312 * 54 months + $500 down payment = $17,348 OTD
Is that a good deal? I live in a Chicago suburb. The dealership is Autobarn in Countryside.
