Just searching the web and I find this interesting Electric Supercharger. 3 custom wound motor 6+ horsepower each (total of 18HP) on CNC-machined casing, that give 20psi in 3/10 seconds, rated up to 450hp and lifespan of 150,000miles. Has anyone test this product, if so what are the result?

It suppose to have it's own special battery that can power it for 15 seconds shots (like nos shots) and fast recharging. It charge while you cruising along, fully charge in 20min for another 15 seconds shot.

Check out the dyno graph. It stated that at some point it produced 100% more power on that nissan altima and this is not from some random guy webside, it's a pretty popular car magazine webside.

i think your still going to have problems with it like with anyother type of boost application. you'll still have to worry about your tranny if your an automatic, and youll still have to worry about your clutch if your a manual. grantid its not a constant wear and tear on either transmission, but its still going to provide (if it really can) enough power to trash our trannys around anyways. is it worth the cost? how much will all those motors powering the supercharger and high tech light weight batteries going to cost? if it cost anywhere near 1.5k then you might as well save up a lil bit more and get the real deal...

The thing is what I like about these electric super charger that they are universal. I probably will just transfer it to my other car. Gonna change my MP5 to RX-8 or Pontiac GTO (350 wild horses (boom07) ), or wait for the 2005 edition (400 HP).

I have read the magazine article, and I do believe it works, but I'm pretty sure all you get is the supercharger when you buy this, you will still need to add batteries, wiring, intake piping, intercooler?, engine management, etc. And even then, it only works in bursts. Why not just go with a turbo kit.

Would be cheaper to go w/ a NX Nitrous Kit.

No wait for recharge..And no worries for fuel management.

As compared with this electric supercharger..which will require some sort of EMS...otherwize..you WILL GO LEAN!

The added weight from all the motors, a supercharger and FOUR extra batteries has got to slow you down, that's like 150-200lbs. (so that's like .1-.2 seconds in the quarter)
And those motors aren't designed to run for long periods of time either. You could only do dyno runs or short drags, and not even back to back runs, because the batteries need to charge and the motors need to cool.

+75 hp for a ten second boost and then waiting 20 minutes would be lame.

Scenario: in the car with the gf..
gf: 'lets take this car next to us off the line'
you: 'OK, watch this"
You take a stang off the line (rockon)
At the next light:
gf: 'lets do it again.'
you: 'sorry I can't for like 20 minutes"
gf: 'you won't be fun in bed then, will you?!?" (sad)

Besides your girl friend making fun of you, this 10 second power would be useless on a long twisty road.
(I do not endorse street racing, so the above scenario is completely hypothetical)

How many times an this topic possible come up?
welcome aboard!
and....umm.....NO!!!!!
