Hello everyone, I just wanted to post this little upgrade I did today. I am anal about something spilling or ruining the carpeted area inside the rear hatch. I have been trying to think of something not cheesy to do to protect the area, and yesterday I ran across a roll of carpet at my local Biglots store here that is exactly the same material and color as the black carpet inside our CX-5's. And with it being 3'x5' it is the perfect length front to back to fit. I just needed to trim the width to 41" and cut the rounded contour at the backside. Looks awesome for $10 and will protect the factory carpet. The picture attached is of the new Biglots carpet in place and the packaging that was around the roll.
