Picked up a 52mm Prosport Electrical peak warning boost gauge for my Speed6. Am going to mount in the center vent with a custom mount being made for me. I am looking at the install instructions included with the gauge and they are very vague to say the least. Im a bit confused as to the wiring. I know the following
Black=Ground
Red =12v constant
Orange=??
White=??
The instructions on their site seem to say Orange should be wired into the headlight switch. If so how will it power up if the headlights are off?? Also do I not wire the white wire if I want it to be amber at all times??
Anyone do this install and able to help me out??

you are correct the white wire is for white lights and the orange wire is for red lighting. don't connect the white wire, just connect the orange and red wires to some ignition power source so it's always on when the key's on.

Will wiring the Orange wire to the headlight switch make it dim when the lights are on or will it not make a difference??

for all of my gauges i just ran a power line from the cig lighter and connected my orange and red's to the same source...works perfect

Problem with that is the cig lighter is a switched source. Red needs constant power on this gauge for the peak/warning memory function....

for my constant i ran a wire from the batt. through the firewall then up under the steering column area and up behind the radio..looks clean cant see any wires

I tapped into the wiring going into the LCD screen ... I dont recommend it if you are looking to keep warranty, or looking to hook up many gauges

I just installed my Prosport Electrical Boost Gauge and the Automatic headlight sensor stopped working and I dont know why..Its in auto and its at night and the headlights dont turn on. I used the Add a circuits and used Ig Sig for Orange and Red (did not use the white). Tomorrow Im going to check everything again and Im going to plug the Red in a Constant. Can anyone tell me what went wrong?
