Proper Amp setup, anybody?

I know about the JL-Audio subs because I have one in my CX5 and one in my 5. The best thing I like about JL Audio subwoofers is the sound quality they produce, which is the best I've heard in the car audio world. I have the 8" Microsub behind the rear seat and with the cabin gain it sounds like a bigger subwoofer.

If you're setting LPF and HPF crossover points than I assume you figured out setting the gains? This forum is a good place to learn more about setting up your system http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/

The sub gain is easy, but the 4 channel feels like, it's not giving enough power. The stereo at maximum, should sound louder in my opinion.
I will have to look at it again.

Are you at max volume on the HU and the door speakers are not killing your ears? Then there is something wrong with your setup, wiring or speaker selection.

If you are not at max volume but the sub woofer is drowning out the mid range then you may need to bridge 4 channel amp to drive just the front speakers (double the power) or you may need a remote gain control for the sub...

As V8toilet said it takes a long time to tweak and refine the sound to your liking. It took me months making small adjustments at a time. Don't get frustrated - this is the fun part! :-)

The amp, can deliver at 4Ohm, 75W per channel RMS. The speakers can go up to 80W RMS.
It must be something with the test tone in my opinion, because the gain is on very low level.
I will have to try the JL Audio tone.
There is not much fun adjusting these settings, if every time I have to remove the passenger seat.
Most likely, I wouldn't much higher then the maximum, but in my opinion it should be much louder.
When I want to listen to the music loud, I'm at 33 and the maximum is 35. It would be fine this way, but it doesn't sound right, that I have to be very close to the max.
