Proper 2000 1.6 Water Pump?

for the 00 1.6 it should be the one listed on Cardone's website.

OK I just got the pump. Confused - I can see where the 2 gaskets go, but where does the 3/4" O-Ring it came with get used?

That's not a bad deal. I tried to get a deal on each component, but all the shipping eats up most of the savings.

yeah see the O-ring in the middle of the larger gasket? Whare does it go??

You are asking the wrong person,i have no clue, just saw this deal when i was looking for the same you are,i will get this on my next paycheck,my pro has 145.000,so it's time to change as of yesterday.

Pardon my ignorance but what's the o-ring?,do you have a pic?,i red that word many times in here but can't figure it out what it is(sad2)

Go back to the Ebay link you posted above. Look in the picture at the top. Inside of the larger of the 2 gaskets they show is a small circular O-ring. The larger gasket goes on the main pump face. The smaller one goes on the side. Where does the O-ring go?

If this is the car I am thinking of, is there a hard metal line that you have to remove to get to the pump? If so, I think the o-ring attaches to the line that goes into the pump, not on the pump itself. If I remember correctly, the line starts on the driver's side of the engine, comes around the front and into the pump.

If not, once you take it all apart, you should be able to find it.

Good luck.

+1, o ring goes on the water pump outlet tube. You will be able to see the old one during dissassembly... Good luck.

Thanks, I'll be doing this real soon. P.S. I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the stock 1.6L, even mated to the automatic. Seems the downshifting under load keeps you in the power band.
