It comes down to purpose and the vehicle your modding being able to achieve that purpose. Some people put turbos on the p5 and blow their engines than have to go back and use stronger parts like with a whole new forged engine. I can understand the people who first bought the vehicle and them trying to modify it not knowing it's potential but by now I am pretty sure every part has been tested to it's breaking limits and we know what has to be done. I got the p5 because of its style, control, and braking although I was not impressed with it's gas pedal characteristics. I figured I could change that. I got on these boards and started to modify my car, growing to love it. It's still not fast but in my research and learning I have found that I will be keeping this car for along time and will be getting a 2nd car. My 2nd car, because I don't have it, is not for sure yet but I am looking at the 5.0 Mustangs pretty closely. That car will satisfy my need for speed but would never replace the p5 in terms of daily driver. That car will take better to mods with alot more potential than the p5, but if I was to take a girl out on a date I would rather it be in the p5 which has A/C and an audio system than the mustang which you will be sitting in hard ass racing seats. With enough money you can make one car a very nice daily driver and speed demon but that is talking like multiple 10's of thousands of dollars. 2 cars is the way to go, like your eclipse and p5. Just don't expect your p5 to take a shot of NOS, cuz it can't, or a thick sway bar with those bad stock shocks.
