I wonder who got 1337, that'd be kind of hot.

Actually Baconbitz is 1337 (I think or he is 1339), but it is not really hot since that is the car before our late buddy Shannon's, his was 1338, you might recognize that as our memorial drive thread title. Both were local to us here. Shannon lived in Snellville and BJ lives in Norcross but is in school in Central Fla. Both cars - spicy orange.

Sorry to again bring up this post for revisitation but does anyone have a clue how many MSP's are now in the R.I.P. category? Not to sound mean but it's making the value of our cars go up. I mean, they only made so many to begin with. My brother always says "Dude, it's just a f*cking Mazda Protege, it's not rare" Then again he has a red 2003 s2000 and a Scion xB. He wouldn't know rare if it bit him on the ass. He DID however have a '72 Datsun 510 with an SR20 engine swap. However, it was taken by someone who wanted it more. OUCH!

Well...to be completely honest with you, it IS just a Protege. We all have them for different reasons, but I guess since we are here we eventually fell in love with the model. There are more efficient cars out there, there are faster cars out there, but we keep them around because we love them. The fact is that the Protege just isn't what one would call a classic, and I think that in the future you will see that though the MSP's and MP3's will go for more than a regular sedan, they will depreciate similarly.

As for the value going up when one is wrecked, I'd much rather have one more MSP+Driver walking around, than the value of my car going up a negligible amount (doubtful) if any at all.

And honestly, our cars are kind of a niche item. The value of them is only valuable to people who know what they are and are willing to deal with their idiosynchrasies (of which they have many).
