Has anyone else had problems entering their VIN number on the site? I registered as a MP3, but the site tells me that I have a Protege VIN number!! Has anyone been able to register as a MP3 and had their VIN number verified as MP3?

maybe it's just me, but isn't the MP3 a Protege?

I'm not completely sure, but I know our VIN's are mixed right in with the VIN's of your regular Proteges- ie. sequentially as they are built then assigned. So that database may not be able to differentiate between the different models. I saw this in a faq somewhere, plus when you call to get your production number, I know it is kind of a pain for them because they have to cross-reference several different sources. This may not be 100% right, but you get the jist of what I am saying...

i thought our vins are mixed in also, but but i just looked at mymazda.com and it shows my car as a 2001 mazda mp3

Mine is listed as an MP3 as well. It listed it as one from the beginning.

And, so what if they have to cross reference several sources to get the number, isn't that what "customer service" is about?

My bad,
I was just saying that there wasn't a cut and dry list. Customer service has to dig through the entire list in order to find the MP3 sequencing... and yes, that is definitely what service is all about. If they cannot answer my question then they had better direct me to someone that can!
