Problems with my INJEN. Warning if you have this setup

well if your car is flashed it really shouldnt be a problem, u might experience some "hiccups" but it shouldnt be anywhere near as bad as the hesitation before the flash. I read your first post and u said u were flashed, if u still have the hesitation u might want to call up your dealership to make sure they actually did the work and didnt just take the car in, drive it around and send it back. Another thing i just thought of, maybe you arent experience the hesitation but are experiencing heat soak due to the small ass IC,

P.S. u are all so incredibly lucky u have that car, i would take a MSP with ridiculous hesitation over the pos civic i currently drive!

I emailed JoeP with my information. Hopfully he can get back to me soon. I put the fpr kit back in because I started getting the hesitation again????

I remember reading about the flash when it first came out & from what I remember the flash did nothing to the fuel delivery. It only advanced the timing a few degrees, so why would the FPR kit be bothering anything? The car is still going to run overly rich & FPR kit should still be doing its job.
My car is not running higher boost right now, but I still have the FPR kit on after being flashed & the car runs great.
I say reset the computer & go from there, also why take off the FPR kit, I mean dont you now have to plug the hole you made for it? Especially with the Injen intake.
I also thought getting colder plugs was best if you are boosting past 10psi?
So if I were you, I would reset the computer first then if the problem is still there, change back the stock plugs. The hesitation could be that the colder plugs are not doing the job of fully igniting the mixture, maybe.

I didn't reset the ecu yet... If the car starts acting up again I will do the reset....

take the fpr off that was only to fix the hesitation dont need it sense ur flashed.

Why would you hit fuel cut at 4k though?

I'm guessing that this would be due to full boost pressure coming on around 4k, therefore no fuel cut b4.

As for correcting the problem, I can only give my ideas...which would be do One Thing at a time (someone posted the same advice to me once). If so, you will be able to determine what is causing it and go from there. IF you do everything at once (reset ECU, remove fpr, lower boost) you'll never know what was causing it, and you'll be at a dead end. My guess - try ECU first, and give it a chance to "relearn" the new A/F ratio, boost pressure, or whatever it learns. If no good, remove FPR...Boostisgood has lotsa experience from what I've read...still no fix, try backing off boost. You get the idea. Good luck - hopefully all comes out well!

my car does the samy thing..i cant bring it up past 8 lbs with out it fuelcutting at 4k rpm's exactly...whats the deal?

I hit the cut this morning coming into work. The boost pressure peaked at 8.7 again, so I need to lower it one more time. I am still waiting to hear for JoeP's techs or himself. If I don't get any information from them I will take reset my ecu, then take off the fpr if I have too. :'( (sad2)
Thanks for all the advice.

I have a question... Has anyone put an Injen CAI in there protege with no other mods to the engine and had problems?

And someone need to explain some s*** to me about ECU flashing and junk... Soo whoever has the time to explain a few (probanly basic) things to me I'd appreciate it... my e-mail is Cbava@bigvalley.net or Im me at Lancebav
