Problems with my INJEN. Warning if you have this setup

Saturday morning I install the Injen with my Friend. The car has JoeP's MBC, FPR, Flash, Cooler plugs, and a Custom Exhaust. I was running 8.75 psi before the install. After the install I didn't had the fpr kit in the Injen when I test drove the car, to make sure every thing was ok. When I opened up the car ad ran throught the gears, I got some bad hesitation at 4000 RPM's. I then install the fpr in the injen after the MAF and the car drove better. This morning the hesitation came back at 4000 RPMs so I lowered my boost from 8.75 to 8.00 psi. Now the car seems fine but we'll see what happens now. Does anyone have any advice to what is happing to my MSP.

I've also noticed that my car runs somewhat the same at higher boost as it does at stock level but with more hesitations. I have a custom intake with the filter right above the hole in the fender. Maybe the pipe is now heating up itself and the air inside of it, therefore the car is running worst.

If you have the flash done, I dont think you would need the FPR anymore because the flash is supposed to fix that problem. Maybe it has something to do with it, even though you took it off and everything.

Yeah, if you're flashed, definitely take off the fpr, reset the ecu, and go from there. Also, make sure everything is tightened up, no leaks, etc. Mine has run fine, and I of course took off the fpr before I got the flash, but have had the injen on the whole time, and regardless of setup, it's been fine...(knocking wood).

Is it just a little hiccup or a BIG jerk ? If its a BIG jerking, your hitting fuel cut, which is easy to do with the injen and higher then stock boost.

Why would you hit fuel cut at 4k though? But yeah, check if you got a SES light, check out what code it is, look in the FSM to see what the code is and go from there. If there is no code, just reset the ECU like people are saying :). good luck

The car is equipped with a MAF not a MAP. If the MAF sees too much air(Colder air=denser air=more air) it will cut, to avoid detonation, too much pressure in the cylinders. It can happen at ANY RPM, if it is an airflow related cut. :D

What do you have your gap set at on the plugs? You may have them set too wide, and the slightly higher boost may be "blowing out" the spark. I'm a firm believer we need a better ignition system with our turbo'd cars then just the stock protege' set up. I'm still trying to find someone who makes a good aftermarket coil pac and spark plug wire set for our cars. Anyone know of one?

PLUGS

I bought the plugs from spool-turbo. They had them per gaped for
me. I believe it was gapped at .30, but I'm not sure. I have that information in the car.

NEVER NEVER NEVER put plugs in, without verifing that the gaps are correct. They can come pregapped, but who is to say the box was not dropped, or something.

You got the flash, they gave back some timing. Upped boost, colder air(Injen) and lowering the fuel pressure(with the FPR) could easily spell doom. Get rid of it, trust me.
