MP3Night

MS3,Mazda3,MSP
If I slowly accelerate the car does fine, but when I accelerate hard it will start to have a problems climbing the RPM's and start to feel like its choking but not so much that more like its bogging down. Here's a video and listen to when it starts to have a issue accelerating. At 3sec in the video you'll hear it

Looks like a misfire. Check that your coils and wires are on nice and snug, and check your plugs while you're at it to make sure they're not fouled. I hope you're using NGK plugs, ZFR5F-11 gapped at .044 is the plug of choice for NA Proteges. I would also put in some fuel injection cleaner and top her off with good quality 91+ octane gas. I only use 92 octane from BP in my MP3.. no Ethanol crap here.

I would start there first and move on to bigger/harder tasks next.

Check your mileage and see if it's time for plugs, wires, and COILS!

Its probably time being that I have no clue when the guy that had the car before me had last changed them. How much do coils cost?
And should I just go with the standered setup I have being that I'm going to be going turbo in a couple of months or upgrade them?

There is not need to upgrade these ignition systems with what you will be running. The only change in the set-up for turbo will be the plugs. I recomend replaceing plugs, wires and coils now so you know when it has been done. And then once you go turbo all you need is new plugs. Just my 2 cents.

Exactly, I can't agree with you more. I have been saying this for years now.. the stock ignition system is one of the few things on this car that is actually sufficient for its purposes.

Plugs: NGK ZFR5F-11 gapped at .044 for NA applications, ZFR6F-11 gapped at .030 for boosted applications.
Wires: OEM or NGK.. no Magnecor, Nology, or Magstar crap. OEM OR NGK!!!
Coils: OEM, buy them from NAPA.. they're like $30 or so.

I thought the ZF plugs ended up being bad for the 2.0L. Almost everyone was going back to stock plugs

Are these the coils your talking about from NAPA? http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?A=ECHIC527_0182298360&An=599001+102001+50042+2042023

What are some good spark plugs? Hate to sound like a moron being that I'm Turbocharging my car, but what is all involved in replacing this stuff...like what all do I need to buy besides the coils? I have never changed this kind of stuff on cars only big trucks lol
