I purchased a rear bumper protector for my 2011 GT. After installing it I realized a 12"section on the lower lip has not been machined like the rest of the lip.
It was very noticeable when I looked out the window at work and seeing it from a distance. The closer I got I could see the lip turns inward toward the center of the vehicle. Looks like it was dropped on the lower edge. I took it back to the dealer and they saw it as well stating they would replace it under the warranty. He said it looked like it was dropped before it was finished. It is very noticeable when you stand behind the vehicle especially because of the good quality of the SS and the machining on rest of the plate. It looks bent in the daylight on the edge. The dealer opened four others and they had the same defect. They all had the May 2011 production date. He has ordered two more to see if he can find a good one.
I recently had the rear bumper cover replaced and the original one I purchased did not have the defect so I have something to compare it too.
Has anyone recently purchased this plate and noticed the wave on the edge?
