Problem with rear door power window on Mazda 6

Hey Everybody,

I am having problems with rear side power window not working. It is not working either from driver's side switch or rear window switch. This happened a few times in the past, but when ever I patted (actually softly punched) on the rear window panel below the power window switch it started working. But now the trick does not work any more. Can anybody suggest what could be wrong ?

thanks

Sounds like you have a bad connection at the motor. Simple question, did you make sure the window lock was off? Not to insult, but there's always the possibility of it. Also, you'll most likely have to pull the door panel off to check the connection at the window regulator, and that should give you a better indication of the issue. It may also be a broken wire/bad connection at the switch causing an open circuit, which wouldn't drive the regulator.

Hey tunersteve,

I did check that windows lock was off. I was able to open up the rear door panel off.

1. Since the window cannot be operated from rear door switch or driver's side switch, i think it might not be a bad switch. All other switches are working.
2. Door locks fine with the remote, so power is reaching the rear door.
3. I tried to check the wires, but did not find any cuts or anything wrong.
4. I tried to pull the connector near the motor / regulator and clean the terminals , but it didn't fix it

You mentioned about bad switch causing it to be open circuit, any suggestions what I should be doing next ? Please provide as much as details, as this is my first time messing it with it.

Thanks
