Hi all....was recently detailing the interior of my 2008 CX9 touring. With the key out of the ignition, I rotated the steering wheel about 180 degrees to clean it at various angles. Anyhow, at one point, the steering wheel completely locked up. At first, I could not get the ignition to move. After I applied a little pressure to the locked steering wheel, I was able to get the vehicle to start and run just fine. However, ever since the steering wheel locked up, the anti-theft dash light continues to blink whether or not the car is locked. Previously, the anti-theft light only blinked when I took the key out of the ignition and locked the car. Now, it will blink when the doors are open and the car is unlocked.
Can someone please clarify the when/how the anti-theft indicator light is supposed to work? Is it supposed to be on 24/7 regardless of whether or not the car is locked, or is it supposed to blink only when the car is locked up. I spoke with a neighbor who also owns a CX9 and he stated it should only blink with the car is locked. Im looking for someone to set the record straight on the operation of the anti-theft dash light. Thanks much!(screwy)
