ok i want to know what is the widest tire i can go on the stock rim of my p5??? it has 195s on it so could i go 205 with everything the same....dont flame im just lazy to do the search

205 works. 205/50 is good. 205/45 will fit but is not recommended by most tire manufacturers. (Pirelli PZero excepted).

How can a 205/40 be good but a 205/45 not good? They are the same width! The only difference is the sidewall and overall height.

After looking at the specs of several different tires on Tirerack.com, you are right the the 205/45 is not recommended for stock wheel widths, I just don't know why.

The shorter sidewall makes it a tighter fit on our skinny 6" wheels.
But still fits and many people (including myself) have used 205/45 with no problems.
