Prices and plans....

Hi everyone. Just wanted to see how the dealers are negotiating on the CX7... It's been a couple months now. I am waiting to sell my car first. I am hoping by September they will be dealing more. Anyone use the S plan from Ford to get a good price on the CX7? My husbands sister works for Lincoln/Mercury and we just got the family deal on his Mariner but wondered if we could now go and get a Mazda that way. Will ask her....not sure she will know much herself. Please post if you got a good deal. Anyone get it for invoice? The Ford Edge is coming out in the fall.....actually the base SE is a little more than CX7. It's more money and no option for a sunroof on the SE. Nice vehicle but have my heart set on the CX7. I do love the Panoramic roof option. Think we could do that to the CX7? It's a $1530.00 option. Too risky for aftermarket? Please post any helpful info.....I always seem to want a car right when it comes out and there's never any great deals going on of course!! I am too impatient to wait it out! Argh!:)

I just used the S-plan pricing to purchase my new CX-7. No hassles, no bickering, jus tthe bottom end price, done. Very easy and ALL dealers should accept the S-Plan pricing on ALL Mazda's.

Thanks.

Thanks Kevin....Hope we can do that too! Still admiring your blue CX7......I am 90% sure it's the color I want....still have yet to see it in the flesh! Dealer said one coming in end of August!

Nopstnz--
Just curious, how much was bottom end? Close to invoice or higher? Lower? Thanks your reply is appreciated. :)

Sinking Ship....

Yikes....many will be waiting a long time for CX7's...heard most were for Vancouver though....sorry Vancouver, CN! Hope their weren't too many for US on that ship!

yeah I saw that too, heard it was mostly mp3's though..

Mostly 3's I heard too....about 350 of the CX7's.......dang they will have to make a ton more to catch up....wonder how long it takes to make 1500 Mazda's!!!

Lots of CX-7's on dealer lots in LA. This dealer has over 140 in stock. Another dealer with 56 in stock is advertising $199 per month lease specials.(omg)

Hi all,
I've contacted an internet sales representitive for a quote on the copper red awd grand touring I'd like. What is the best way to negotiate? He is supposed to call or email me with a quote on his, "best price,"--can I negotiate downwards from this price? I'm really kind of new to this. Thanks!!!

hmmm...

That's seems decent......of course on a no frills base model, low mileage per year but still if you can lease in the upper 200's to low 300's that would be decent. I am just looking for a sport model with moonroof /Bose pkg and fogs.

I paid $27371.95 for a white AWD GT with no other options.

Invoice pricing from Edmunds
AWD GT $26188
White $174
Delivery $560
----------------
$26922

That was my target price. The dealer added a $200 advertising fee (all dealers quoted this fee) and his $249.95 admin fee. As far as I am concerned I paid $450 over invoice. It took a couple of phone calls to find the right car at this price and I had to drive 150 miles to make it happen. Generally I got the impression that invoice deals should be doable without extended amounts of pain.

Edited to add that the dealer I bought this from was Laird Noller in Kansas City.

Dealers, dealers, dealers!

We have been searching everywhere for a good deal on a Grand Touring Mazda CX-7 with the technology package. I must have called seven different places. One place said they'd give us a great markdown, and so we anxiously awaited their call. When the sales consultant called back, he said, "I'll give you MSRP, and you're lucky, we sold our last couple above the list price," well, of course we told him no way. So he said he'd talk to his manager. They came back with two hundred off MSRP. I next called the dealer who had the exact car we wanted. The woman, Loopy, said she could only give us full price. We moved on. We fianlly called our hometown dealer, but we assumed because he only had one car, he'd not discount. Wrong! After much negotiation, we managed eight hundred above invoice. But the dealer is going to have to trade for the car we want. He called us later to say we'd have to take the more expensive, but exactly-the-same model. The other had been on its way but sank in the ship! Well! So the dealer told us he'd call us at 6:30, the other dealer had someone looking at the one we wanted at 4:30 and if the guy didn't take it, it was all ours. He never got around to calling, and I've got my fingers crossed we'll get it. Wish us luck!

If you can wait for your deal that you want.....looks like invoice to $400 over is decent and doable. Some dealer with enough of them will deal....remember car dealers are still hurting for sales!! Don't believe them...walk away if they want full price. Good luck!!!

under invoice by one hundred dollars

Hi, cruzdreamer,

It looks like we've found a dealer who will give us 100 dollars under invoice on a black cherry mica gt with tech package and sand leather! Thanks for your help. :)
