Hi Folks,

I am about to purchase a 2011 AWD GT CX-9 With Moonroof Package and power lift gate options
Just wondering what has everybody been paying recently for the exact same spec as they are clearing the 2011 models ?

Also how easy it is to get the color combination and specs that you want ?

That is what we got, and I'll have to look at my old posts to see. But I think it was 33,400.

I am really debating if I should buy now or wait for the 2012... do you guys think the 2012 will ever be have 0% financing ?
Also, what do you guys think about the mazda navigation ? is it worth the price ?

0% financially usually happens in Q3 before new model year comes out.
Mazda navagation is almost the same as Toyota/Lexus (but might be a stripped version - My wife has a Prius. The Navi looks almost identical).
Anyway, both are lousy and expensive compared with modern alternatives...
However, integration is way better than anyway you install your Garmin (or whatever). Safety is what I am getting at.

Welcome SHB! Jealous that you live so close to Tyrol Basin, that place is (was) awesome. (I used to live out that way)

I agree even though the Nav system for the CX-9 is not the best out there, it is much better to have it integrated with vehicle. I do wish the voice commands would work better for it, and it is a shame the yearly map update cost is about $200 if you wish to do that.

Thanks helbigtw ! yeah I spent more time at Cascade than Tyrol Basin :D

Back to the GPS, I somehow feel the in dash is really overpriced too compared to the alternative and offer less value
External GPS can be bought for less than $200 with some fancy features (traffic update, etc) , I would rather buy a new gps every year rather than paying $200 for updated Map.

Does the GPS give you the ability to change it while the vehicle is moving or not ( like the Toyota ) ? Does it also have traffic update ?

I'm only looking as well, haven't bought yet, but am looking at a 2011 GT with Nav. From what I can tell, the Nav does offer satellite updates for traffic.

The price I received was $34,700 - but I'm in NYC where it's hard to get a deal on just about anything. I'm also leasing, although I doubt that should make a difference. According to CarsDirect, I'm at $2300 under invoice, which if you figure the $2650 in incentives means it's priced at $350 over.

I've been wavering about getting the rear entertainment system for the kids too, since it looks like it might not add much to the cost of the vehicle (from what I can tell, about $600 or so, but since I'm leasing only half of that is baked into my payments).

Ability to change while moving? No. The car has to be in "P" to input a new address destination.
Traffic updates? Yes. There is a setting in the menu where you pick what traffic radio station you want your traffic to come from. The one time I experienced Nav telling me about traffic on a routed drive, the traffic update was correct to the 0.1 of a mile. It kept warning me of slow traffic, then it said something about stopped traffic and when it said I was at the stopped traffic, I had just come to a stop...eerily and coincidentally quite accurate that one time.

One other note on the GPS is that you can change to other preset destinations while driving. I have had 3 notifcations of traffic issues and the option to change my route, one of the 3 times it was correct, the other two times there was no traffic problem to be seen.

If I do go ahead this month and get the 2102 CX-9, it will be without Navi. I've seen some beautiful OEM fit, plug and play Navi's on eBay for the CX-9 for only $450.00....compared to the $1,665.00 the stealer is quoting. If you are ever on eBay, check out the Navi units sold by a seller named abc_lighting (don't forget the underscore). His 3D settings for the Navi shows actual 3d images of buildings, not just the road.
