***THREAD WILL BE UPDATED SOON AND THE BROKEN IMAGE LINKS WILL BE CORRECTED**** LOTS OF WORK WENT INTO IT (AGAIN) RECENTLY!!!**** 04/01/2016****

After selling all my toys and my daily driver (Protege5), I decided to have my DD also be my toy. I initially looked at RX8s, but decided that I aboslutely needed a 4 door because of my 3 year old. I started looking for STOCK MSPs and finally found one as close to stock as I could get. The only aftermarket parts on the car were Tokico Illuminas. I contacted the out of state dealer and asked if they would take it to Mazda in Marietta, Georgia for a PPI and they agreed. After the dealer called to let me know of a few, minor issues, I decided to drive down and pick it up. And so it began.

This is the day after I drove it back from Georgia.

I will update this as I have time and modifications.

I also had to fabricate my own water neck spacer, which surprisingly passed a pressure test and so far a week of driving.

eBay Thunder V2 replica manifold installed- If you look at the top of the runners, you can see where I put my own welds on there in order to hopefully strengthen it. Although you can't see them, we also put extra welds at any spot that we believed would be under stress in order to help avoid breakage. The initial inspection of the manifold the welds looked "okay" at best and you could see evidence of burn through in a spot. Overall, for $200 shipped, if my welds prevent breakage, it's well worth it.

Mazdaspeed Miata Nardi steering wheel installed. Since I'm waiting for the engine internals, figured I'd go ahead and install it.

Sub'd. Watching your experience w/ that Thunder knock off. Please let me know of any problems w/ install or down the road. My stock header has a bent flange and leaks until the engine warms up. Really want to replace it but don't want to spend a ton of money on a new mani.

So far, so good, but it's only had 1,500 miles put on it. I did put extra welds on it, too.

Yeah my idea is to take it to a machine shop and have them check the welds (I don't weld). Then have it ceramic coated to help protect them.

I was "tipped off" by a fellow MSP owner about a car being parted out about 250 miles away, so I contacted the seller and ended up scoring a few things like s Steed Speed manifold, GReddy BOV, AWR trans. mount, MSP engine cover and an 03.5 bumper..
