Pre Buyer's tips

Hello All!!!

I have been reading these posts for a couple days now and you people are such a great help!!! I am in the market for a Protege5 and will probably get on in a month or so. I was just wandering if anyone had some pre buying tips. I don't know if I am leasing or buying(leaning towards buying) If I buy should I get the loaded hooptie or go pretty standard and upgrade the audio and all the other goodies myself? What are the must gets? Thank you in advance for any help!

I just bought 2 of these and I got them both under list.

I got the base model 5 speed and will upgrade some stuff but it wasn't worth it to me to get the hooptie when performance wise it was the same as the base model.

I added leather seats to my wife's car becuase of her alergies.

Nice thanks for the site! I think I am going the leather route. I believe it comes with heated seats? How is the alarm on it?

Mine doesn't have an alarm.

You can also go to www.mazdausa.com and configure a car and then take that configuration to a dealership and go from there.

Cool thanks again..I went there already and I got my baby printed out. I thought a standard alarm came with it and the option was for the proximity sensor? I need to find a solid nav system and mabye a dvd player. Damn the toys!

a panic button is standard, the alarm is an option.

We are researching putting a dvd system in the wife's car since she has the kids with her alot

Nice I saw that kenwood has some crazy stuff for the car but it pretty pricy. I believe the system is like 2000+
