What do you guys think about this? Do you think there is a enough clearance under the CX-5 GT to use it? This seems like a neat idea', but as you know sometimes what seems like a good idea doesn't turn out to be.. :-0

Cool jack but I wouldn't want to use that on the pinch weld as it would likely crush it.

Were you planning to use on the other lift points like that area behind engine or the rear diff?

Crap, didn't even think about that.. I have a couple of these but I'm thinking it would be a little sketchy using them with a bottle jack, not to mention it's very unlikely to fit under the car with them..

I bought a pair of similar Powerbuilt 640912 and I can confirm they DO NOT fit under the CX-5 GT. It's close... they're within an inch of being able to fit. I'm debating whether to return them or just drive the car up onto a small piece of scrap wood and then slide them under. As another poster pointed out, there's also a risk of damaging the pinch welds, and I don't see how you could use those 'hockey-puck' style pads with these.

I thought these were a more compact solution than a floor jack and separate jacks stands but I think I may end up going that route instead.

Thanks You. That will save me trouble of trying them.

Not sure what model year and if AWD of other posters in thread but I use the center jack points and then utilize jack stands from there. I'll see if I can find the other thread.

EDIT: Here is thread.

On rear I use the rear diff with my AWD. On front.. front crossmember area.

and two sets of these.

It's a 2017 AWD. I was a little surprised the owners manual had no other lift points other then the pinch point areas. Perhaps the front x-member or rear diff body areas will work on the 2017 AWD.

I have the exact jack and stands linked. Excellent value especially with coupons.. Black Friday deals btw too.

For our FWD skyactives the rear is super easy to lift up via the rear cross member. Both rear wheels lifted in seconds. The fronts however, I access from behind the front wheels (under driver door). Having barely enough length on the jack to reach the front cross member and its a fairly long jack too. I wished the front cross member was placed 5 inches forward and it would be perfect.

Guess Mazda doesn't expect owners to do more jacking than changing a flat, which can be done with scissor jack on those pinch points.

And to add, the jack points of our CX-5 are lower in flat tire conditions.
