nice looking kit - seems like everyone is making a turbo kit for this car now that mazda no longer makes the car :)

Looks okay but a few things that I absolutely do not like:

The IC pipes crossing under the brace...your asking for trouble, I have seen it.
All mild steel with MIG welds...UGGHH! that's an emphatic no-no.
No flex joint in the down pipe...asking for trouble again.

Yes, on the proto kit the IC pipes do hang about 1 inch lower than the bumper. What can I say about the flex joints, these guys are into hard pipe kits. The wastegate is placed where it is because we converted an internally wastegated turbo to use an external wastegate, works beautifully and looks badass. Fuel management is with a Vortech 12:1 fmu and an MSD fuel pump, that allows 6psi without detonation, haven't tried it with more boost yet, don't even have the fuel pump in yet. As for the welds, they are tough, we've bottomed out the pipes 3 or 4 times and they don't move, an the incline has to be super steep to hit the pipes right now. Sorry duane all steel here, no aluminum.

Specs:

Garrett TB0321 (big T3 off of a Saab)
Greddy Type-S BOV
Tial 38mm Wastegate
JGS Tools Manifold
PWR Intercooler
Custom piping
Vortech 12:1 FMU
MSD Fuel Pump
Powder-Coated Metallic Tango Red

I am going to get it dyno'd and run it as soon as it gets out of the body shop (had a little accident on Tuesday, here is the thread for that:)

Anyway, like I said you can PM Scott or ask questions here.

i am about to jack your thread, but is there a way you can get pics of the 12:1 disc that are on the vortech. i have a few of em but dunno which one is which. thanks alot. oh yeah the kit looks nice. there nothing wrong with mig welds.

I forgot to mention price, the production kit will most likely be $2900.00 and come with different/better stuff than this proto kit. I will keep you updated as always.

You lost me on this one. I never mentioned aluminum. I did say mild steel however. ;) I was just stating that it all is mild steel, not stainless. Or is there stainless?

there is nothing wrong with mig welds
There is when I can SEE that they are mig welds from the pictures. I'll let you contemplate what I mean...:D

From what I know that is all stainless but don't quote me on that. I understand what you mean by being able to see the migs, the production kit will be much cleaner. Thanks for the input.

It looks like everyone in Arizona is making a kit for the P5 right now. Since both Power-House (PHP) and MAM are making one here in AZ.

how could that wastegate POSSIBLY work? its POST turbine!!!

how is tyhat bleading off exhaust pressure reducing RPMS of the turbo?

if anything, opening the wastegate would decrease back pressure INCREASING the RPM's of the turbine wheel....

please explain how this setup actually works to control boost.

thanks
