Power from a Matrix XRS

i was looking at the weight of the p5 today in edmunds.com as well as mazdausa.com cuz someone had posted a link in a p5 turbo 1/4 time thread that made estimates based on weight and horsepower. and so i was looking all around for the p5 weight. and looking at the p5 brochure i have with me right now, it says curb weight of manual is 2716lbs.

MSP still makes more torque.....

does that mean it is better, say for example on the track? just engine wise and not comparing the suspension

i kill those matrix and gts everyday....

they are quick, but the lack on torque makes them an easy target, but they have a nice top end.

So...they are difficult to catch if they are already in high speed, high rev.

the XRS engine has different internals: lightweight pistons n rods, short stroked, different cam profiles and stuff, thats why they are high hp, but low torque.
