2003 Mazda Protege ES... now what?

One thing I'd like to do is repalace the shift knob. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest the MSP shifter linkage and knob. The throws are much nicer. Snick snick.

you can always look into a TWM shiftknobs and their short shifters (Generation 2 TWM ss, reduces throws by 50%)
If you wanna just shift knob, twm shift knob (for mazda) will fit stock shifter threads

here are few pix of the short shifter and shiftknob in my car

Dis, whats the thing above your cd player? Nice knob, btw. :)

thats Zeitronix Wide band o2 meter, and it monitors not only AFR but also boost, vacuum, lambda (what ever that s*** is, haha) exhaust temp, analog wideband output, RPM and one user input. Although I have it in my dash now, its still not hooked up to anything yet, as Im still waiting on the rest of my turbo parts.

you can check this unit out at www.zeitronix.com! one of the cheapest and most accurate wbo2's that Ive found.

Lamba? Nice s***, even considering no one knows what it is. Seems like a pretty cool addition though regardless. I like the stock 6 disc CD changer for now, but that could change retty soon.

I'll be browsing TWM.

if you WILL get TWM shift knob, or even a short shifter, you wont regret it, guaranteed. The only draw back of the shift knob, is that it gets a bit hot when exposed to direct sun light for a long period of time.

I have a 2000 1.6 DX 5spd. This is my first brand new car and it is super fun but slow. I will swear I almost redline every gear during most of my driving and it just doesnt stop going.

Im proud to own a car that can take a serious beating. I only have 60000+ miles but they are very hard city miles some highway miles.

I could do without the road noise though. Between other cars in its class or price range I think its the best value.

You can get n/a mods or forced induction for just about anything.
