Potential 2012/13 Hatch owner saying Hi!!

Hi people! Glad to see a good community wit h involved members. Thought I'd stop by and say hi!

I'm looking at a iTouring Manual Hatch and a nearby dealer has a 2012 (Mid-17k list price) and a 2013 (High-17k list price) model listed on their website. This is supposed to be a "special internet price", but I'll have to visit the dealership to find out what the real deal is.

Will have to test drive both 2012 & 2013 to see what the differences are, but I'm excited nonetheless.

But again, Hi!! (hi)

Welcome. I purchased a '12 Mazda 3i Touring hatch with the six-speed manual and I've been quite happy with it so far! Although I am disappointed that you can now get the Grand Touring trim (leather, moonroof, tech package, etc.) with a manual transmission for 2013, I'm still pleased. A simpler car weighs less and will have fewer issues in the long-run should they arise. Good luck with the purchase!

I just bought a new 3i Touring hatch 6MT--same as you're looking at. At all the dealerships in this area, the internet quote assumed $500 each military discount and Mazda loyalty, plus a bunch of asterisked disclaimers in 0.2 font that I forget. When I got in to the dealership, their prices were more. I wound up paying ~18.3 for mine, which they called a ~2300 "price adjustment" and said it was lower than their employee pricing (which I kinda find hard to believe). I too had the option of 2012 (less $) or '13 and opted for the '13 just because 2012 was the first year for the Skyactiv engine (perhaps they sold them elsewhere, but not I believe in the USA). I'm not dissatisfied with the price, but you can rest assured that they won't sell you a car without making some profit.

Anyhow, I really like the car. Good luck on your haggling!

Cheers,
~T
