I was reading the link that Neox has in his sig about going boosted on a P5/2.0l Protege. If you are using the stock MSP setup and aren't forged or built, having a FMIC is somewhat a negative.
Can anyone confirm this? I've been so eager to get a FMIC, perhaps I should just get an upgraded SMIC.

YES
running a FMIC on the stock turbo at under 10 psi is going to cause you to loose power
HOWEVER, as noted in my writeup, the turbolife/perrin FMIC is an exception to this...the piping distance is not much futher than the SMIC (even though the core is much larger)
I wouldn't say loose power just way more turbo lag due to the more space required to be filled.
