Thanks for the compliments guys, I'll be sure to pass them along to my Dad. Unfortunately the MSP still gets the street treatment - My mom's car and the Corvette get first dibs on the garage.

@Altspace: My Dad got the inspiration for it from looking at too many of those "ultimate garage" books and websites.

@Funky: We put a drain in and hose in that corner, don't worry hahahaha

What you can't see is the functional stuff we did in there too. Above the garage door tracks on either side are metal tire racks which hold our spare wheels and tires (winter/summer). Free's up space in the shed and keeps them out of the way. Also, the things on the walls flanking the cabinets are speakers, which we wired and installed when we built the house in '98. Makes washing the cars that much more fun. The floor was the most expensive part (had the pros do it), but everything else, walls, baseboards, cabinets, lighting, etc. We either DIY or installed ourselves. Its been a hell of a project, but by doing everything ourselves, it has really kept costs down. Walking out there feels like walking into another room in the house.

Looks kick-ass! Can't wait til I can have a garage like that.

Me either, and when I do, there will be a 39 buick parked in it... been in the family since new.

Dude sell everything else you own before selling that trust me. I miss our '70 Stang every nice day. Granted It's not a '39 but still sentamental.

oh no, that car will never be sold. My dad got all pissy that I wanna swap in a ford 9" rear end, and update the suspension/brakes all around, maybe swap in a flathead V8 and a 5 speed trans... because it will "bring the value down"... I told him to screw off, I don't care what its WORTH i'd rather have it be a driver, it will NEVER be sold. Sourcing running gear for that thing as it is would be a NIGHTMARE.

obviously I'd keep and store all the stock stuff, so she could be restored some day, but...

We swaped a 470 in to the stang, ran it at the track for a while, then picked up a '55 2 door station wagon, threw the 470 in there and coverted the stang back to stock. And sold it when the IRS steped in.

Just some pictures of my MSP as of this weekend...

+1... My dad had a fully stock '56 Corvette; he sold it before I was born and I still haven't forgiven him!

yeah, I'd say she was due for a teardown...

Well remember I cycled a couple quarts of oil through her when the Turbo went. All that is just carbon build up from the oil

I was actually really suprised. The cylinder walls were beutiful, hardly any wear in them at all. I doubt they are round still though. I actually consider myself lucky the turbo went and I decided to do this build. My #1 cylinder was about to seize up. There is major scoring on the side of the piston.
