my original plan was to wrap the entire thing in white 3M "CF" vinyl. however, i'm pretty disappointed in the weight savings of the CF hood and adding a pound of vinyl wouldn't help. unfortunately, i'm not a fan of the two tone thing either. maybe i should just paint the whole thing...

Yeah, I'm personally not a fan of the two tone either. I just prefer it over keeping it fully CF. IMO, it would be best to paint it completely white.

Quick, crappy chop:

this would look 100x better if you continued the cf down into the grill so it flowed with the hood. maybe do it a matte black or a light grey color.
