My girlfriend is looking at getting a new car so i am helping her. She found a gem i believe today. Its a 07 mazda3s black and thats about it i believe. It is owned by an elder couple who purchased the car with good expectations but later determined that it was more than the wife needed. She drives 2000 or less miles per year and has had a small truck for 13 years now with only 27k miles on it. This car was originally purchased for but she is overwhelmed at all the buttons and everything. The car only has 227 miles on it and they are just looking to get what they can out of it. talked them down to $16200 for a brand new car. they drove it home and never went over 55mph.

So what do you say? pretty decent deal?

Whether or not that is a good price will depend on which model it is. If it's the Sport model, then it's a fair deal. Comes out to about $800 below invoice or so, which is a price often gotten many times brand new from dealer. If it's a touring model, or even better a Grand touring, then I'd jump on it, because that is a great deal. Either way, assuming it is the sport model, it's still worth it for $16200. Technically, even though the mileage is so very low, and the car is essentially brand new, in the market place it's still a titled and previously owned car, so keep that in mind before you purchase. You are paying close to retail because it's not technically a brand new car. However, if this was the exact color and model she was looking to buy, then I think it's worth it. Good luck!! :)

yup it is the sport model. i think she will keep the car for many years to come so the multiple owner issue will fade the longer that she keeps the car. I thought it was a good deal for a brand new car. The only thing that does suck is the second owner issue but as long as we keep all paperwork to show the next buyer (if it is ever sold) the situation.

i'd probably be a bit cautious if I were you ... *lemon light flashing*

besides, why not get a new one? Getting an almost new one for just a bit under invoice doesn't appear THAT good of a deal, considering that many ppl can get a new speed3 for a bit below MSRP these days

I don't think that that is the case. its an old couple that just got sold on a car that they really didn't need to purchase. They are very nice and vary caring of the whole situation. they have drove it only 150 miles or less so even if it does have issues they are mostly unaware of it.
