...so ive read about the squeaking problem. a lot of people on the forum really really dont seem to like it. is there REALLY a fix for this? and as far as the CLUNKing problem, what causes it? and is there a fix for this? i dont wanna drive around squeakin and clunking lookin like an ass, esp in my dads eyes as he doesnt agree with buying used cars.

also, is there anyone out there with mp3's that never did give you squeaking or clunk problems? my friend's uncle owns one and her cuzzin swears it makes no noises.

in the AV/Group buy section...i want to say around $175...but greasing mine twice a year or so works for me...and it's cheaper!

mmm if i buy, i'll be searchin the forums and buggin u guys bout the best way to squeak it. I MEAN GREASE IT. lol

i BOUGHT IT. could i possibly remove the sway bar all together temporarily? i know it'll affect handling but i dont want it to squeak while i do some research and buy some different bushings or that kit for the fix.

u guys think this will be okay temporarily?

mine has been out for 3 days now... noticed handling difference... only when driving harder than normal... otherwise no big deal.

my squeek was horrible

im waiting for the fix

kool. what sizes were the bolts? the car is at a diff location for now and i dont feel like guessing and checking. i dont have a whole set to bring with me either. thanx! :D

bolts should be a 14mm for the brackets and i think the endlinks too. you will need an allen key or airgun for the endlinks. allen key to hold it in place while you use an box wrench. or airgun would be easier.

but a 14mm should do the trick. either that or a 17mm. but id bring a few just in case.

cool thanks. i now drive sunshine lol. she needs a shower and a car cover. anyone know of a good car cover?

the links and 2 of the bushing bolts are the same size(9/16"?) .. other two bushing bolts are bigger and there is a nut on the inside that is hard to reach .. had to use a 18" non ratcheting socket wrench to get way in there and hold the nut from the back but it was possible to get at it.

at least i get my clunkfix in less that a week :)

California car cover. I bought mine from a previous MP3 owner here on the boards. It's custom fit for the wing and body kit. I got the full weather one, but there's all sorts of kinds for different prices.

well i finally got around to fixing the squeak. my friend helped me put in the AWR's bushings for the rear sway bar. it came with the lubing and i made sure i lubed the shiet out of it lol. so far so good for a few days. it squeaked once on a road i was driving 45. its not exactly a big dip but it makes ya go down a little and back up and it squeaked. shoot if it stays this for a few years i'll be happy :D

Just be aware that there are differnt squeaks from our cars. Because of the tightly tuned suspension, the spring seats also squeak sometimes. Mostly when it's cold out. You really notice in winter over speed bumps. Welcome to the MP3 family!

Freakin awesome car, yellow FTW!! I've only seen one down here and it unfortunately was riced out to the max. Good luck and enjoy, I myself did the AXR clunk bracket which made the sway bar work better and got rid of the noise.

thank ya :] i noticed the rear creaks a bit over harsh bumps (which is rare) even with the new bushings installed. its only normal i figure.

Good luck, I noticed a big improvement once pushed to the bars limits. Also it felt somewhat smoother then how it worked prior. The location of the bushing is moved completely.

out of curiosity, ive seen pictures of the kit but never seen it installed. mind snapping a few pictures when you get a chance?
