possible warranty issues

I'm in pretty good with my dealer, I give them excellent reviews and they know I drive a bit out of my way to go to them. Plus they're newer and don't have as much business.

Anyways, I plan on having them do my services, but I'm going to ask them about the mods.

I'd probably have them install them as well, that way they can object if they see anything wrong. It's all up to them. I plan on installing the Billet SRI when it's available and maybe an exhaust.

On all my past cars I've done my own installs, but I've also screwed a lot of stuff up.

I'll let them install it, that way I can have proof that it was installed professionally, and that there was no immediate cause for concern and that any further damage is most likely coincidental. To me it's worth paying the extra $20-30 an hour to have them do it.

Do you guys think this is a decent idea? Piece of mind is worth some cash in my opinion.

as for the K&N filter and ruined MAF. I would've sprayed some brake parts cleaner on the hotwire and cleaned all of the excess oil off it. Re-installed it and I bet it would've fired up! I can't recall how many bad running cars I fixed by throwing the stupid K&N filter. People don't know how much to oil those things and the excess gets sucked through and coats the hotwire. Once that happens it's going to create all sorts of problems.

I don't know about other MAF sensors but the ones on VW's last about 1 week after you spray ANY kind of cleaner in them.....I highly reccomend you don't try cleaning a MAF sensor with brake clean it burns the coating on the wire.

BrianV- If your dealer is willing to do the mods and will warrenty the parts I would definetly consider it.

blkzoomzzzoom so what are the differences between the motors then? pm me the info if you have time. Thanks alot.

Azian6er- Do you have a fax number? If so I'll fax you the info right out of the book tommorow.

It sounds like a good investment would be to buy one of those electonic diagnostic tools...

If you see a a/f light come on, you take your intake off before you go to the dealer because you know they're going to take one look at the intake and tell you to piss off...

So is it even safe to change the spark plugs or do they see that as a violation, too?

This is the one thing that is making me hesitant about getting a turbo....

Damn Mazda:mad:

Can you post this info somehow? Maybe scan it in and post it up on here? This is info that many people on here would probably like to have.
