Possible fuel pump problem?

Has nobody with the p5 had any issues with the fuel pump going out or acting up. I searched and the msp mention something but make no difinative answer for the problem. My car hesitates when I accelerate. It lacks much of the power it used to have. It makes a kind of electronic cow mooing sound in the back under the seat (where the fuel pump is obviously). And last but not least when at or under 1/4 tank of gas it bucks violently when you try to accelerate hard.(peep)

already done. maybe 20,000 miles ago. Have new iridium plugs (been running since new). Ran fine until recently. Problem seems to get worse slowly with time.

It does sound like the pump going bad (the 'mooing' sound).

Replace it or to troubleshoot further - the manual tellls you to measure how many litres of fuel/time (volume - not pressure) and see if it meets the spec...

i had a fuel pump go on my first car - it's not fun...one minute it can be fine the next you are on the side of the road. Don't put gas in the tank before bringing it in for service... you can kiss it all goodbye.

Well I'll probably do it myself because it is just under the back seat. But I just wanted to get some opinions and see if anybody else had this problem.

Possibly the inline fuel filter? Not sure if the P5 has one or not.

There is no inline fuel filter on the P5.

The noise from the pump suggests its a fuel supply or return issue. I would take it to a shop and have them test the fuel system. I wonder if its a blockage in the return line. Someone recently reported that as an issue on their car.

say guys found it was my timing belt. camshaft position sensor does not send a single to fuel pump. so we have a no start.
