Possible FSZE Bulk Buy

i have a connection now on the engine.. I had the engine and mine died..(RIP). I've spoken to LInuxRacer several times when he found me on my website. Anyways, i'm trying to setup a bulk buy of FSZE engines. I have a price quote of $1225. That includes shipping. This price does not include the ECU. I have to talk to him again but 5 engines would need to be sold. I believe he has 2 on hand. 1 going to me and he can get the other 3 within the next month. e-mail me if you need info. Been workin on this issue for the past month so if people are interested please let me know ASAP.

for 1200 im very interested.... let me know as things progress... are they rebuilt or brand new? if they are used how many miles are on them...

i'm trying to answer a few questions that i received (that i can remember off the top of my head).

1. Engines are straight from japan. I worked out a very good deal with a company that imports JDM engines. The true price is $900 for the engine and $325 for shipping.

2. Off course the engine will be used. I've never met anyone that sells new FSZE's.

3. Mileage will be specific to the engine you would receive. From my understanding no engine would have over 40K. True Japanese engines are rarely high mileage.

4. No engine will have been rebuilt. I certainly would never take an engine that would have blown up and needed to be rebuilt due to failure.

5. Basically I'm dealing with a company like corksport (but not corksport) that imports these engines and sells them, just for a much better price because they obviously have some better connections in Japan.

Any other questions please e-mail me or post in here. It seems the probe and mx-6 owners aren't as daring since the ecu is not compatible and you guys have a dis ignition and vics intake unlike us. If i'm correct though you guys can't fit the intake manifold without major modification to the strut tower. It fits nicely inside my probe. Probably the only benefit I have w/ the swap when compared to mp3'z.

ECU would def. be another concern. Now I'm not thinking right away to do this but it would give me something to work on and still have a drivable car. Without the ECU I can't see too many biters on the offer as you would need some other way of reprogramming the current computer which from what I have heard is difficult to say the least. I would also like to hear from a copuple of people who have done the swap and check on their results.

Just thinking out loud.

how do we know your not one of those guys that reaked havoc on i-club and honda forums and stole about 60 grand from members and in the end they found out it was all BS.... dont get pissed about be asking this bc you only have a cuple posts ... it seems kind of fishy to me...

First of all, the J-Spec ECU won't wire up the the domestic wiring harness. Second, we don't have the vics, and you can't use the vics with the FSZE because our ECU doesn't have anything to control the servo that controls the intake runners. So $1200 is a very good deal because you don't need the ECU anyway's. But, the power gains aren't worth it and the US MP3 has more torque than the FSZE. If you don't believe me just ask Linuxracer which lives about 5 minutes from me. He has the dyno sheets to prove it. But if you are just going for the JDM fad, go for it, you cant beat that price with a stick!

OK for the last time we do have VICS already!!!!!! It the probe guys that don't. It isn't controled by a servo its controled by a vaccuum acuator. If you are looking at your engine from the fron look on the left side of the intake manifold and you will see the actuator. All the 99+ 1.8 and 2.0 protege have it. The difference in the FS-ZE and FS-DE intake manifold is the plenum that sits on top of the FS-ZE intake manifold to hodl air to give better throttle responce.

about the not many post i guess i understand that.. i've been a memeber of other forums for probes and mx-6's for years. I was invited to check some stuff out here by linuxracer (sp). I'm also redesigning Outlaw Engineering website and officially sponcered by several comanies. I would have nothing to do with money.. I'm just trying to organize this. I figured i'd toss it out in this forum since the swap is much easier for you guys than for cars like mine. About the ECU. You don't need it. I do... I have an FSZE ECU. It was hardwired to my FSZE because without it, Car go nowhere. You guys have VICS and a DIS ignition system, I don't, you don't need the ecu (from my understanding). If anyone knows any company that will sell the ECU please tell me (and no corksport won't). I have no problem giving everyone the website name and company that I'm going through. I just wanna confirm that one of those two engines in stock goes to me, before I start throwing all that info out. Basically I'm testing the waters and checking to see who's interested, before I start telling this company that they can pull more engines and ship them over to the states.

DJ, What's up? I see you stirin up the Kool-Aid over here!:D I wish I could have gotten mine for that price.

what about the variable valve timing??? dosent the fsze have variable valve timing??? is it not controlled by the ecu?

I thought that the VICS system had different intake runners instead of ours that just has a butterfly like the throttle body. That's what I thought at least. I was also wondering about the variable valve timing. Maybe that's also why Linux isn't getting all the power. Also, one more question. Does the FS-ZE have the advanced ignition like ours. If it doesn't, that compression ratio should be higher than 10.1:1 with the U.S. ECU. Am I right here, just a thought I had.

Guys, even tho it's a cheap price...you're still gonna pay 1225 for a USED engine, and probably at LEAST a grand to get it installed. And you're really not gonna get any power out of it. GO TURBO OR GO HOME! :-)

NO FS block has variable valve timing the new 2.3L from mazda that is going in the 6 does. as for the intake runners the only difference in the FS-ZE and ours is I think the FS-ZE may have a little larger runners but not much we could port ours to larger if you wanted. And the compression ratio is actually 10.3:1 not 10.1 the mazdaspeed pistons bump it to 10.5

I could have sworn I say a pic of an engine in the familia that had vvti on the engine cover. Anyways, what do you think about the advanced timing thing I was talking about?

no chdesign.... the compression on the FSZE is 10.5:1 and the mazdaspeed pistons are 10.7:1....

why will it be a grand to instal? cant you do it yourself... dosent it bolt in?

if i cant find a jspec computer then im not getting the fsze... who knows where i can get a jspec computer and how hard it would be to convert the wiring to OBD I?

If you really want to get the FS-ZE, you should talk to Linuxracer. I think he will suggest that you use the money for a turbo though. His total price was around $4000. You could buy the Tripoint turbo and be half way to getting the forged internals like Bryan Pendelton.

I spent a day searching and e-mailing companies. I finally came across a company that had 2 in stock at a great price and could get more. Had to jump on it.

ohh........ it looks like someone here knows Brian P. Brian's project is extremely amazing but keep in mind he has spent more than a year just building up the engine. Probably looking at another 6 months till everything works right again since the last incident.. (i think this is accurate info. I haven't talked to him for a while about it). Keep in mind our probes run a 9:1 compression ratio. probes are more efficent to turbo, most turbo engines run an even lower compression ratio than that, usually an 8:1 or so. With your stock compression you're not looking at much turbo performance even with upgraded block, fuel, internals etc.. yes. I have all these too. If you're looking at forged internals buy another engine and plan on spending a year waiting on parts, installing them, and finally dropping the engine in and tuning it. All price estimates I have on a turbo install on a base car are around 5K w/ install. With forged internals 6500. also when you say 4k total for linuxracr he also paid i belive $500 more for the engine.

If you have basic questions please go through linuxracr's posts on the FSZE. You'll learn alot more there, before asking questions here that have already been answered.

I do have 2 simple questions for linuxracr.
1. do you run the factory ecu or the jspec.
2. which intake manifold are u using.
