Pope downpipe question

youll need either a straight waterneck OR a spacer about 1/2 an inch thick to clear the downpipe from touching. wrapping it is just a bandaid, itll still eventually melt the coolant hose if its touching.

There isn't room for both... trust me 6 months even with my silicone samco hose wrapped to hell with fiberglass tape +$100 for another freakin hose!

Ok and do I'm obligated to remove all the turbo of the car for install the downpipe or I can try without moving the turbo ?

I unbolt the turbo manifold from the head (supported with blocks or something) then have room to get to the dp bolts

I think you'd have to remove your turbo to put the down pipe in. It makes it 100x easier. There's a bolt on the S-pipe that is extremely hard to get to without having the turbo off. Taking off your radiator also would help a lot. I punctured mine because it was extremely hard to removed with the limited about of space.

I don't think so but it's simple; drain coolant (you can also plug the coolant lines but it's messier) remove rad fans if you like, pull off hot pipe, remove (or unplug) the primary O2 sensor and heat shield, unbolt the exhaust manifold at the head, unbolt the S pipe bracket and S-J pipe flange, remove the oil feed line (not hard at all just need a wrench), remove the coolant lines and oil drain lines (all have spring clamps) and you can pull the turbo.

Does anyone know where I can get the hardware for the downpipe. Meaning the bolts with spacer to attach it to the turbo.

There is no spacer and the thread pitch is M8x1.25. You can make a spacer like chiqles and myself did by getting a thermostat outlet from a salvage yard and cutting the outlet off so that you just have a base, then grind it flat. I did this, then used gasket material to cut a gasket. I haven't had a single drop of coolant since installing my downpipe.

Or do you mean the exhaust adapter? 3" to 2.5"?

When I went to the Pope website I noticed he used different hardware to attach the downpipe to the turbo. That's what I was referring to. I already have the spacer for the coolant hose. Thanks for the help though.

Just try to make my own spacer with a old thermostat housing.
