* The same engine is used in the 2006 models

Sources vary from Car&Driver, Road&Track and a number of other dependable sources.

The two highlighted entries are the two I would most suspect appeared in the video opening this topic.

This just goes to show the S2000 is not in the game of playing with the GTO's or the Higher powered Stangs or 350z' (another awsome Japanese car)

I LOVE the 6.0 GTO's....may try to get one someday. 'Maggiecharged' (brand of s/charger) and they're friggin' ridiculous - I'd take one ANYDAY.

Even on a track the GTO would win. It depends on the track obviously, but usually speed and power favors over handling. I know it's against this forums beliefs. Going through a turn 15mph (probably the largest difference) faster then a car that can exit and get to the next turn faster isn't enough to win. Who knows. Let's see some kinda track race.

Well I got my new Dyno reading yesterday, pushing it all the way up to 140MPH in about 18sec, not super fast, but then again I know of some cars that take 10sec to reach 60. My 0-60 was 4.8sec with 350hp down on the road, so still a little engine retardation from the low octane gas the other week back - sigh!

Anyway, here are my numbers latest numbers:
GTO - 2007-07-01.webp

Figured I would add my 0-140 time too:
GTO - 2007-07-01 a.webp

Good baseline numbers! Now just add Kooks LT Headers, A nice aggressive cam, Fast 90 intake manifold, 3200 stall, and a good tune. ;)

Ditto on this! Good baseline though. I expected a little more to the wheels HP wise but the torque numbers are very good.

Yeah the HP is still down, the engine is still we-tar-dead - sigh!

I was foolish and tried to skimp on $$$ for gas and put the cheap stuff in and since then I have been getting the car to forget about the 'knock on the head' if you will.

I'm thinking that another couple of weeks and she should be as right as rain again. If you seek out my previous weeks Dyno, the car was down in the 200's (boom07)

As for the mod's I'm thinking about a 63 series K&N just to see how that changes things.

I drove my buddy's 5.7 GTO... it's definitely a nice car, but I personally wouldn't buy one. As far as the S2K goes, I'm way too big to fit in one so I wouldn't buy one of those either. BUT I would buy an STI and roast an S2K and keep right along side a GTO (in the quarter)

BAD REDSLED!!! No crappy gas in performance engine!!!! (smash)

the new gto imo looks like a family car not american muscle. hardtop s2k even though slower stock for stock is my choice.
