well I'm christian, so of course I believe in an afterlife. But I didn't always, i just seen to much not to believe.

Funny - people have a tendency not to believe something, just because they can't explain, justify or quantify it. Hello, the universe is bigger than us folks. I guess being egocentric is just in our nature.

Sure, I believe in it. But I'm not counting on it or planning for it because I have to live in the moment.
It's interesting to see elderly people who are ready to die. I'm very far from feeling that way, but it must be a mix of peace and sometimes frustration if you are at that point.

Life is amazing, though.

Well...can't really say. No one can really answer that I guess. You have to die in order to find out but you can't really tell anybody since you're dead. Let's just leave it as: I have a life to live, and if it's there, it's there. If not, then it's not.

Funky, I agree, no one can answer with definite proof either way.

It hurdles me to believe that there is existance, religion is obviously a household word with the majority of the population involved in some way or another. It's hard for me to take a step back and take a look at it all.

On a side note, do all religions believe in an afterlife?

You have to define afterlife. Does it mean leaving the life that we know of forever? There are religions that believe in reincarnation, so even though it's a life after this one you're still returning to this world. I don't see reincarnation as afterlife, so no, not all religions believe in the afterlife.

Actually the most religions you speak of the reincarnation is merely a step to enlightenment, which is the ultimate goal- And for myself, I want to believe that reincarnation is reality, and that there are things beyond our current lives, but the rational thought within myself doesn't agree at all- For a very long time I have still thought that most all religion is a crutch for the masses, to control them(and I count myself as buddhist! lol)

i thought that they are reincarnatied untill they were the best thing(be it person animal w/e) then they reach nirvana
