Thermal Research & Development is making a Cat-Back exhaust for my car. I'm just Curious to see what size you guys guy. I always though "the bigger the better"

with 3" you will lose low end torque during normal driving conditions.

Paul, for a boosted application, the backpressure from an exhaust is a BAD thing. BUT, for the msp application, with stock turbo, a 3 inch exhaust is overkill. :D

I understand that, just 3" for a daily driver is overkill. If it is strictly a race car 3" would be adequate. while boosting 3" is great but when not in boost 3" is too big.:)

I went 2.5" with my setup. w/ high flow cats.

2.5" is PLENTY big for what most/all are throwing at the msp... 3" would be an overkill... there are hardly any gains between the 2.5 and 3

2.5'' please... But i tell the girls its 3'' AROUND!!:D
Hehe, they have made a 3" so far. It will be Full Polished Stainless Steel Exhaust and target price will be $599.00 Retail on it is about $699.00. A Polished Full Stainless steel is very expensive =/. After that they will make a full 3" Downpipe system.

Not an mps but i would agree with 2.5 Youll want a nice exhaust velocity.
As someone said the 2.5 will support most of what people want and the cost should also be lower as well

By the way, I want to know what Thermal thinks is better. There's been this debate about CAI vs. SRI and how Injen made the CAI because they think that's what we'd wat - but what about what they think is best? I'd like to know what Thermal thinks.

the SRI v CAI has been debated several times. I can break it down easily for you right now though. For the current application to a mostly stock MSP, boosting 10 PSI or less, the CAI will benefit greater.

If boosting more then 10-11 PSI an SRI will benefit more, due to the fact you need to get more air to the turbo, and combustion chamber quicker.

Point in case. I just re installed my factory piping, with the K&N open element. Im boosting 12 psi constantly, with the flash, and my car now pulls harder then with the Flash, and CAI. Look soon for a full SRI kit with HKS MegaPower filter, no cheap s*** from me. :D
