plug wires and silicon

Just got my new spark plug wires... wondering if you people thing i should use the di-electric silicon when installing them... or is it really not nescessary. By the way, these are the sparkco wires... so i dont know if i was infact supposed to get a tube or not. Thanks in advance

by the way, if anyone has the part number for ngk irids or bosch p4's that would be great.

it's not a bad idea...with the deep plug heads the boots tend to get a lot of heat and will stick to the plug..put a little around the outside and inside of the boot opening and just a light smear around the bottom of the lip that covers the opening in the vavle cover. For the part numbers are as follows

Denso Iridum: 5204#4 (standard heat range)
5203#4 (one heat range warmer)

Bosch P4: 4418

Zio,

Do me a favor and check your wires. See if they say 9.2mm or 9.0mm on them. Furthermore check to see where they were made. I received mine a few days ago and mine say 90mm and USA. I wrote Sparko but haven't received word yet. Thanks.

Matt

PR5 i cant really read the wires since there is a black sleeve on them.. the white lettering is hard to make out. but i can the made in USA on them

oh yah... just to let everyone know.. there is not a HUGE diefference..i do hear a better revving engine and a slight smotheness is notice.. SLIGHT and i am not impreseed by the fit. But for half the price of others, i really cant complain. hopefully these will work better when i install new plugs and ignition system pretty soon.

my roomate has a 02 es and i have a 02 p5. he order the magnecore wires and they sent him the set of 4 for the old 2.0. my question is can we take his set of 4 and modify them so we can each have a set. there is a speed shop here that makes their own wires and he said all he would have to do is modify the ends that connect to the coil packs. he said he could do it in about 15 minutes. with this affect the integrity of the wires by shortening them or is this a good idea. a set of wires for each of us at half the cost. please help me?
